Pre-Work for Developing Your Leadership Mindset, Know and Grow Your Team, Accountability Workshop

  • Complete the Pre-Competency Assessment (steps below).
  • Complete your DiSC Assessment (steps below) and review your DiSC Assessment report (pgs. 1-6)
  • Meet with your Accountability Partner. Discuss the following questions:
  • What do you want to get out of this leadership-development process? Name at least one specific outcome.
  • Name at least TWO takeaways or “a-ha” moments from Above the Line, Below the Line (linked so you can watch it again).
  • How does your mindset impact your leadership influence?
  • What can you do to foster an above-the-line mindset in yourself when you dip below the line?


DiSC and Pre-Competency Assessment Steps

DiSC Sales Assessment

The DiSC Sales Assessment provides valuable insight into who you are and how you lead. You will use the assessment report throughout the program. There is a sample DiSC email (*below) so you know what to expect. It will come from HRD Leadership <hrdleadership@wiley-epic.com>.


The assessment takes less than 20 minutes to complete. You will need to complete your assessment by July 16 and you will have immediate access to your results upon completion. Once completed, please review your DiSC Assessment Report (pg. 1-6).

The pre-competency assessment will establish a baseline for your confidence and competence level on a variety of

leadership competencies. Please watch for an email from hrdprograms@hrdleadership.com via SurveyMonkey <member@surveymonkeyuser.com>. The pre-assessment takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Please complete by July 16.

  • Listen to Quick Thinks: All Effective Communication Must Start With This (Episode 25 of Think Fast, Talk Smart) and meet with your accountability partner to discuss:​
  • What connections do you see between the questions Matt Abrahams (the podcast host) suggests you should ask of your audience or listener and the information you’ve learned in our workshop about the importance of connecting to someone’s prior experience in order to communicate effectively?
  • Meet with your accountability partner to discuss the above!
  • Continue working on your Leadership Mission


Pre-Work for Leading Through Conflict Workshop

December 1

  • Complete and Execute the Switch Change Framework for the change you identified.
  • Identify behaviors you can adapt to better manage change.
  • Meet with your Accountability Partner.


Pre-Work for Post-Assessment Review and Celebration Workshop

January 12

  • Work on applying two or three productive conflict behaviors
  • Listen to Reframing Your Reality (Part 1): Episode from Hidden Brain podcast.
  • Meet with your accountability partner/triad and discuss the following questions:
  • What was your favorite example from the podcast about how our mindset (i.e., how we frame our reality) impacts our decisions and interactions with others?
  • How can you put this insight to use in your professional
  • Complete the post-competency assessment (you'll receive the link on 12/15)
  • Keep thinking about your Leadership Mission!
