DiSC and Pre-Competency Assessment Steps

DiSC Management Assessment

The DiSC Management Assessment provides valuable insight into who you are and how you lead. You will use the assessment report throughout the program. There is a sample DiSC email (*below) so you know what to expect. It will come from HRD Leadership <hrdleadership@wiley-epic.com>.


The assessment takes less than 20 minutes to complete. You will need to complete your assessment by April 4 and you will have immediate access to your results upon completion. Once completed, please review your DiSC Assessment report (pages 1-6).

Pre-Competency Assessment

The pre-competency assessment will establish a baseline for your confidence and competence-level on a variety of

leadership competencies. Please watch for an email from hrdprograms@hrdleadership.com via SurveyMonkey <member@surveymonkeyuser.com>. The pre-assessment takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Please complete by April 4.



Pre-Work for Feedback & Accountability and Decision Making/Problem Solving Workshop

April 15

  • Share what you’ve learned about DiSC (including your style) with your team and manager.
  • Practice adapting your communication to adapt to others’ DiSC styles. Be prepared to share examples in our next workshop!
  • Meet with your Accountability Partner. Discuss the following questions:
  • Name at least TWO takeaways or “a-ha” moments from Above the Line, Below the Line (linked so you can watch it again).
  • For example, consider how your mindset impacts your leadership influence.
  • What can you do to foster an above-the-line mindset in yourself when you dip below the line?
  • Decide how you will foster an above-the-line mindset in others and practice doing it.
  • Begin talking NOW about your Leadership Mission. What questions do you have?


Pre-Work for Listening Like a Leader and Communication with Impact Workshop

April 23

  • Give the piece(s) of feedback you need to give and/or have the accountability conversation you need to have.
  • Employ the Eisenhower Matrix to prioritize your time.
  • Employ the OODA Loop to make dynamic decisions.
  • Be prepared to share examples of any or all of these next time!
  • Meet with your accountability partner to discuss these questions:
  • Share the examples you have of giving feedback or employing the Eisenhower Matrix and/or OODA Loop.
  • What did you learn about how you might approach things differently next time?
  • Continue to work on your Leadership Mission.
