Pre-Work for Leadership Mindset & Review Pre-assessment Data Workshop

March 19

  • Complete the Pre-Competency Assessment by March 12
  • Complete your DiSC Assessment (see information below) by March 12 and review your DiSC Assessment report (pgs. 2-7). Please have your DiSC report available at our next workshop.
  • Meet with your Accountability Partner. Discuss the following questions:
  • What do you want to get out of this leadership-development process? Name at least one specific outcome.
  • Name at least TWO takeaways or “a-ha” moments from our initial discussions of mindset, values, and leadership.
  • How does your mindset impact your leadership influence?
  • How do your values impact your leadership influence?


DiSC and Pre-Competency Assessment Steps

DiSC Management Assessment

The DiSC Management Assessment provides valuable insight into who you are and how you lead. You will use the assessment report throughout the program. There is a sample DiSC email (*below) so you know what to expect. It will come from HRD Leadership <hrdleadership@wiley-epic.com>.


The assessment takes less than 20 minutes to complete. You will need to complete your assessment by March 12 and you will have immediate access to your results upon completion. Once completed, please review your DiSC Assessment Report (pg. 1-6).

Pre-Competency Assessment

This pre-assessment will establish a baseline for your confidence and competence-level on a variety of

manager competencies. The pre-survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Please complete by March 12.

  • Meet with your accountability partner:​
  • Share what strengths and also opportunities for growth you see in your DiSC report.​
  • Name at least TWO takeaways or “a-ha” moments from Above the Line, Below the Line (linked so you can watch it again).​
  • Begin talking NOW about your Leadership Mission. What questions do you have?​
  • Work on your Leadership Mission.


Pre-Work for Communication on the Front Line Workshop

April 15

  • Plot your team members or closest working colleagues on the DiSC wheel (in handout), and answer the questions about gaps, strengths, and tensions.  ​
  • Meet with your accountability partner to discuss the following questions regarding your Action Plan for Success (in handouts):
  • What actions are you planning to adapt communication to someone else’s DiSC style?
  • What obstacles are you planning ahead for?
  • What outcomes do you anticipate?  ​
  • Continue working on your Leadership Mission.


Pre-Work for Giving Feedback in the Moment Workshop

May 1

  • Practice using your new brain-based tools: Analogies, Questions, and Enriched Environments. Be prepared to share at least 2 examples next time of how you have done so.
  • Meet with your accountability partner to discuss your plans or debrief how it went.
  • Complete the mid-point survey.
